About CARPology
“It’s your complete carp fishing bible…”
CARPology: It's a celebration of the culture of carp angling, offering a non-conformist, self-expressing view of this accessible and credible sport. This marvellous world of carp angling is expressed via our award-winning writers. The likes of Terry Hearn, Nigel Sharp, Dave Ellyatt, Leon Bartropp, Ben Gratwicke, Jon McAllister, Iain Macmillan, Keith Sykes, Wendy Lythgoe, Dave Slowen, Rob Hughes, Pete Regan, Simon Scott, Joe Morgan and Ali Hamidi are just a few examples of who write in this monthly title on a regular basis.
CARPology is split up into different sections of editorial, resulting in a less confusing read and a better platform to digest the information. The editorial inside runs from basic to "advanced" to serious carp angling know-how.
Each issue of CARPology is given a theme. For example, the January issue was The Observation Issue, the February issue was The Old Skool issue, the March issue was The Great British issue, the April issue was The Day Ticket issue and so on.

Screamer section
This is the news section of the magazine. We have the following regular features: Top Ten, Global Gathering, Quick Quiz, “Ooh, That’s New!” which is a page (sometimes a DPS) on the very latest tackle to have come out, plus other CARPology editorial banter.
Tactics section
Thought-provoking matter on all modern-day carp fishing tactics and methods. We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of developments in carp fishing, and our award-winning Below The Surface series of articles confirms that. Rob Hughes, the author of the articles takes you ‘below the surface’ so you can discover exactly what happens.
We look at how the lead lands over different types of lakebed, how bait falls through the water, different types of leaders, feathering the lead, feeding spots: all information that hasn’t ever been available before.
Along side this we look at all the modern-day approaches and how the anglers “doing the do and catching” are doing just that.

Nailed
The section dedicated to the “riggy angler” who likes to know today what others will be using tomorrow. We have a regular feature called The Ministry, where we show you in a step-by-step format how to tie the latest and dear we say it “greatest” rigs.
Inside this section we also have a feature called End Tackle Gadgets. Here we review all the latest gizmos that have just, or are about to, hit the market. It’s your perfect guide to learning more about how our end tackle works.

The Themed Section
This is the section that is dedicated to the magazine itself. To give you an idea, the January issue was The Observation issue and featured, The Development Of The Hinged Stiff Rig by Terry Hearn, The Weather Man, Roy Parsons talking about that particular subject, The Rotary Letter featuring Dave Ellyatt, Nigel Sharp and Leon Bartropp where they talk about observations and how they’ve learnt from them.
Basically what we’re trying to achieve is a complete ‘bible’ if you like of whatever subject we pick for that particular month.

Not only do we bring you the latest from the world of carp baits, but we also have in-depth bait interviews with the likes of Steve Morgan, part-owner in Mainline Baits, Keith Sykes, the “daddy” in the world of carp food, but we also feature open forums if you like between rival bait firms.

Big Carpers
A month-sized wedge of stories from the people that catch behemoth-sized carp. Our prized writer, Pete Regan appears in this section and has done in every issue since the magazine was launched. He is a “God” to some of our already established readership.
To run along side Regan, we have regular features from Alan Taylor, Pete Broxup, Jamie Clossick and Dave Slowen.

CARPology Promotions
This section is were we inform you of our subscription deals, our range of clothing and reviews of French holiday trips we’ve been on. In 2006 we brought you detailed articles of trips to Nash Resorts, Eden’s Lakes, Carp Runs and Francecarp. It makes picking one venue from 100’s a lot easier.
The BREAKdown
The BREAKdown is the reviewing section of the magazine. Normally we dedicate at least four pages for reviews, as well as another two pages for long-term reviews. We review the latest kit to keep you informed of what's currently out there.
Stuff
As the name suggests, a section for just that. Here you’ll find competitions, hardware reviewed, interviews, DVD’s, books and one of our favourite features, Fitty of the Month.
CARPology: The Greatest Carp Magazine. (All the others are just rehearsals!)
