Avid Tuned Luggage 2017
It’s true: organisation is the key to success. Just ask Mat Woods, Ian Russell and Nige Williams. And now you can achieve it with total ease thanks to Avid’s clever Tuned concept

At some trade shows – not many, but some – you walk into a room and are greeted by some truly awesome new products. Surprise! This is one of those days. And while Avid’s Tuned concept isn’t exactly new (it was launched last winter), today we get our hands on some new additions to the range.

Of course, on the surface, the Tuned luggage items may look like any other bag or carryall which are currently available on the market. But that’s okay! New concepts don’t have to be visually different to make a difference.

But then that’s a bit of a lie, because they do visually look different to most other brand’s offerings. Made from a super hardwearing 600 denier material with sumptuous leather zip pullers and super padded carry straps. All the bags have webbing reinforcement where it matters, like on the shoulder straps and lugging handles. All the bags are fully lined and include a thick layer of foam all the way around to keep the contents inside safe. Even the carry handles and shoulder straps are made from a gorgeous peachskin material that’s both durable and waterproof. But of course this is only half of the Tuned story – it’s its functionally which wins big.

So why does it win then? Because it’s based on a set parameter of measurements that means all of the accompanying pouches and accessory bags can be stacked into the carryalls in whatever order you prefer. Widths, heights and lengths have been carefully chosen to make things easier. Think Tetris for your angling bags and you’d be on the right lines.

There are three main sizes that make Tuned so simple: Small, Medium and Large. The Medium size is a complete square, whilst the Large is two of those squares and three Smalls gives you the length of a Large size. Turn the bags on their side and you’ll see how the depth is also relative to the original set of parameters, meaning things can be stacked and stored however you like. You can “Tune” it to your own fishing. See what we did there?!

These sizes are also mirrored with Avid’s Bait & Bits Tub range, so if you want to mix between the Tuned fabric pouches and the harder, plastic Bait & Bits Tubs, you can.

And this outstanding modular system means what for you? Incredible fishing efficiently is what. It keeps your gear organised and co-ordinated, making life easy on the bank.

The original collection saw two sizes of carryall – Standard and Large; Tackle Pouches; Air-Dry Bags; a Rig Wallet; Chod Rig Bag; Buzz Bar Pouch; and Bait & Bits Tubs all hit the shop shelves. New for 2017 is a fistful of new items: a Double Sided Tackle Organiser; a Session Food Bag; a Session Bait Bag; Scales Pouch; a Rucksack; Pouch Set; Hookbait Bag; and Cool Pouches. And just like the original collection, it’s all exceptionally well priced. Avid, we salute you once again.
