Bag-up on the cheap thanks to Taska

Solid PVA bags can have an insanely expensive price tag. Whether you’re a prolific bagger or a once-a-month kind of guy, thankfully now Taska’s PVA collection has your wallet’s back

Perfect presentation, the ultimate carrier for delivering powder and liquid attraction right next to your hookbait and now, thanks to Taska’s Bag Up Loader and 120mm In-Line Lead Inserts, they’re dead easy to tie, too. And whilst the PVA bag is clearly a marvel of utter brilliance, it does traditionally come with a hefty price tag for something which, quite literally, dissolves in front of the carp’s eyes. Enter Taska’s PVA Breakdown Bags collection.

Manufactured using the highest grade of film that is coated and textured to ensure easy opening and easy loading whilst still being extremely robust. It starts dissolving after 10-15 seconds, and is fully dissolved without any trace of residue within two to three minutes (water temp depending). They’re suitable for use with all oil-based liquids and flavourings and come in a huge range of sizes so there’s something for everyone’s needs: XS 50 x 100mm; S 60 x 100mm; M 70 x 110mm; L 90 x 120mm; and XL 90 x 160mm.

And, unlike all other manufacturers, Taska’s PVA bags are wife (i.e. bank manager)/wallet-price-friendly, with each pack containing 25 bags (the XL version is 20) and only cost a mere £2.85 per pack! taskacarp.com

Tie-up as quickly as you bag-up

1 Start the whole set-up by taking an in-line lead and removing the standard length rubber insert like so.

2 Replace the insert with a 120mm In-Line Lead Insert in Green or Brown subject to the fishing situation.

3 Thread the lead onto the iCore Leader and attach a short rig like the one seen here to the ring swivel.

3 Thread the lead onto the iCore Leader and attach a short rig like the one seen here to the ring swivel.

5 Now you can begin loading the bag – just with a little micro pellet in the bottom of the bag like this.

6 The next step is to lower in the rig into the bag making sure it’s sitting nicely and not tangled at all.

7 Add a little more pellet to cover the hookbait and as you can see the bag is beginning to take shape.

8 As seen here in the picture – push the in-line lead down into the centre of the pellets and bag next.

9 Slide off the Bag-Up Loader and pinch the top of the bag tightly (there should still be 2-3-inches of PVA).

10 Lightly lick the excess PVA at the top of the bag then twist and stick the PVA around the lead insert.

11 With the top the bag now secure, push in the corners next before licking and sticking them down.

12 And that’s it! The finished PVA bag will look like this – compact and ready to cast to your spot!
