Century Neville Bankware

Century have teamed up with Neville to create a stunning collection of carbon and stainless bars and sticks and this is the outcome

Your rod supporting kit is obviously vital to any carping set-up and it must include a number of essential qualities. It must be strong and solid in position, variable for differing situations, and in some cases lightweight, but it must also (and don’t go kidding yourself here) look good once the rods are out and you’re sat back with a brew. Does the Century/Neville Bankware achieve all this? You can bet your back buzzer bar it does!

The big questions

I’ve heard of Century rods and Steve Neville alarms – are these the same companies?
Yes, and both based in the UK. Century are renowned for their rod building experience and carbon technology, whilst Steve Neville is a name synonymous with cult bite alarms and stainless bankware design. As you can imagine, the combination of the two and resulting products is something very exciting and quite special indeed!

Yeah I like the sound of this, so what pieces of kit have they come up with?
Pretty much everything you could ask for: buzzer bars and banksticks made in stainless steel, lightweight carbon, as well as an eye-catching range that combines the two materials. Plus, there’s a long list of accessories including bankstick stabilisers, bobbins and some of the best fitting snag ears on the market.

Tell me more about the carbon range, that sounds a bit special.
This is a very sexy range of items! The black 3K-3K woven carbon looks uber cool in the understated Stealth Black version which features matt black anodised aluminium screw fittings and locking mechanisms. The carbon is finished in Century’s ‘Low Scratch’ custom coating and the banksticks include a stainless steel point. We particularly like the carbon/stainless combination, again using 1K and 3K woven carbon, although this time fitted with machined stainless steel components. The result is a strong, lightweight design that, well, just simply looks the biblically stunning!

How close do the rods sit together on the buzzer bars? I don’t like them too close…
Well, you’ll be pleased to hear that there is a huge selection of buzzer bar widths: pairs of 11” and 12”, 12” and 13”, plus 14” and 16.5” in three rod versions and 6” and 7” and 7” with 8.5” in a two rod option. There’s also a ‘Chunky’ version available, as well as a goal post set-up (12” and 13”) and adjustable versions too, so any angler will certainly find a set they find most suitable or appealing.

That’s great! What about accessories, I like my set-up to match?
Again, the Century/Neville collaboration has thought about all the niche pieces of kit the modern angler might need. There’s Bankstick Stabilisers to eliminate twist in your set-up on soft ground, in both carbon and stainless steel types. The Snag Ears were particularly impressive: suitable for any buzzer, they fit perfectly to a Neville alarm and are again made in carbon or stainless. They also feature a thread to attach your bobbins, so there’s no need for a hockey stick attachment and a reduction in thread length when fitting your alarms to buzzer bars or banksticks. The Back Rod Rests have the classic Neville look and the bobbins available in kit or separate form will add functional class to any rod support set-up. Whatever look or style of set-up you’re after, Century/Neville have provided it all with efficient design, strength and the craftsmanship they are renowned for.
