Crafty Catcher Retro Range King Prawn

With flavours dating back to the mid-80’s, Crafty Catcher’s Retro range King Prawn certainly comes rolled with carp-catching heritage…

Within the Retro range from Crafty Catcher are some devastating baits, but in our eyes nothing’s as devastating as their King Prawn. Being made up of milk proteins and ground birdfoods, the guys at Crafty have designed the bait to work all year round by combining low temperature fishmeals, a range of soluble krill protein extracts, krill meal, brewers yeast and fermented shrimp paste which also makes it an incredible foodbait and fish attractor.

One of the key flavours that’s makes this bait truly ‘retro’ is the original prawn flavouring which dates back to the mid-80’s and has a long history of producing big fish from all across Europe.

The bait is available in 10, 15 and 18mm, along with matching pop-ups and pots of mixed washed-out pinks and whites, so you won’t be short of hookbait options. For added attraction, the King Prawn Bait Booster can add that extra edge to a classic smelling bait. It’s available in both shelf-life and freezer form and comes in either 1 or 2.5kg bags.

“GIMME”: £8.99 and £19.99 for the boiled food; £4.99 for the pop-ups and £5.99 for the Booster; copdockmill.co.uk

Carl King's top tips

1. “By pouring the Bait Booster liquid onto your bait straight from the freezer, as the bait thaws out the liquid is drawn in. Once thawed, the baits can take on an additional coating of the Booster liquid, giving you supercharged bait.”

2. “By mixing up the sizes of your bait you can keep the fish guessing and also give yourself a few options for hookhaits. My personal favourite is a mixture of 10 and 15mm as the fish can really start grubbing.”

3. “Being a fan of washed-out bait, I like to take the edge off the bait to fish particular waters when time is limited. By washing it out I feel you can create the illusion of the bait being present in the swim for longer than it has been. And with washed-out pop-ups already in the range, the hookbaits are an easy option.”
