Cyprinus Maxus Bedchair & Deep Snooze Sleeping Bag

Cyprinus is back, and in 2017 they mean serious business, as this duo proves when it comes to quality and price

We live in a world where we want everything instantly – and for the best possible price. Amazon. Argos. eBay. And it’s with the latter dotcom outlet that Cyprinus has made its name. From zero to one of eBay’s biggest sellers of fishing tackle. From beds and bags to bivvies and barrows, they’ve weaved their way into every part of the carp market. And they’re winning. Winning big – as are you when you shop with this new six-year-old start-up company. Super competitive prices, super efficient service, free next-day delivery and, best of all, they make outstanding products which rivals those with a very well-known logo and big marketing budget…

The big questions

Ah! Cyprinus! I love these guys and their products but they’ve been completely off my radar for the past year.
And ours too – but that’s simply because they couldn’t keep up with demand and ran low on stock. The thing is, for 2017, they’re going for it big – like BIG time, so running out of stock is sooooo last year for the Cyprinus guys now!

So what’s new then?
Cartloads. There’s more bivvies, clever barrows, bivvies – there’s even whispers of rods and reels which will be of serious concern for their competitors. You see, the Swindon-based brand doesn’t sell via tackle shops – they sell direct – which means their equally awesome products can be sold at least a third cheaper as there’s no middleman taking his cut. But back to the products, and this month sees them launching the Deep Snooze Sleeping Bag and a new bedchair: The Maxus.

Tell me about the sleeping bag first…
This is the five-season bag which comes in a three-season size and weight! Seriously, this is something real special. With its specialised internal and external baffles, it’s able to keep the warm air in and the cold air out. Heat-retention also comes from the offset panel stitching.

Sounds great, but what’s the inside like…
Chill! We know where this is going… And no, there’s no “grippy” fleece-lining – it’s an all polyester lining which makes for very easy movement when inside the bag. And when it comes to getting out of the bag, you’ll be pleased to hear there’s 10mm ‘anti-snag’ crash zips, and the bag won’t follow you down to the rods because there’s elasticated hoods at the head and base plus a strap in the middle to help secure the bag to the bed.

How big is it?
You’ll struggle to fill it! Whilst it measures a hefty 210 x 88cm, it only weighs 2.4kg and when stuffed back into its stuff sack, it’s pretty compact too. And when it comes to price, like the bag itself, Cyprinus haven’t disappointed: a mere £34.99. Under fifty quid for a five-season bag!

So what’s the crack with the bedchair then?
Well, it’s called The Maxus, it’s incredibly comfortable and just like the sleeping bag, it’s VERY well priced…

How do they compare to their competitors?
It’s very Jekyll and Hyde: super comfortable and strong yet still extremely light. It offers more in the way of footprint/weight reduction compared to their equally price-pointed rivals. It doesn’t get any better. Wait, it does, we’ve not told you the price yet…

Well go on then, will my wallet like it?
Yes, it’ll love it – as will the wife/girlfriend. This is one seriously fabulously accomplished bed at extremely good prices. The Maxus retails for just £59.99 and the Deep Snooze Sleeping Bag retails for just £34.99! The Maxus will be available very soon. Get yours from cyprinus.co.uk or search on eBay right now.
