It's a pram-hood with a difference

If it’s space, comfort and a fistful of unique features you’re after, then Fox’s award-winning Voyager is your perfect bankside home

When Fox introduced the Voyager bivvy some years back, it quickly became the go-to shelter for those who wanted a fistful of differences to the current crop of bankside homes.

Unlike most pram-hoods where the ribs all meet at one central point, the Voyager’s two middle poles are split, meaning there’s more internal space

The Voyager is a big bivvy, so if it’s space and comfort you want, this one-plus-man sized home will fulfill those criteria. And whilst it’s based on a pram-hood concept, the actual space it provides is more like a tunnel than a standard square shape. Fox have achieved this huge internal space thanks to its larger-than-normal back panel and longer rear rib which vastly increases the usable inner space.

There’s plenty of ventilation

They’ve also got clever with the positioning of the rear pegging points which helps create a flatter back, allowing you to position your bedchair right at the back of the shelter, creating more front space for storage.

The side vents help create great airflow

On the outside, it’s typical Fox stuff, starting with a rigid aluminium pole structure to provide outstanding strength without the weight. There are four ribs, and each one features two breaks to reduce set-up time and make its packed down shape longer and slimmer. There’s fabric ton of door options, and zipping off first is a fully removable front panel. The front door is extremely wide and features two-way herringbone zips, whilst there’s large mozzy panels either side of this, plus side and back vents to create the ultimate cooling bivvy when it’s scorchingly hot.

The flat back design means you can utilise all of the available space

There are plenty of smaller, natty features too, such as the internal mesh pockets which provide storage for your receiver, keys and phone; drain piping to divert water away from the vents and the front of the bivvy; two rod retaining straps; and a front peak for added protection from the elements. And Fox certainly don’t expect you to buy any additional extras: the Voyager comes supplied with a heavy-duty clip-in groundsheet, heavy-duty pegs and an oversized heavy-duty carry bag.

Rear vents come as standard

Inch-for-inch, the Voyager beats its competitors when it comes to utilizing its internal footprint space. It knocks them out of the park when it comes to features. And thanks to Fox opting to wrap that clever frame with their award-winning Ven-Tec 10,000mm fabric, it means they’re ahead of the game when it comes to waterproofing you and your kit. Now, where’s that MasterCard?

Extending wrap

Like to think you’re manlier than a bare-chested Vladimir Putin on a bear hunting expedition? The reality is, the moment that first real cold front comes in you’ll be so damn thankful you purchased this…

For the ultimate comfort bankside experience, throw this wrap on and you’ll be left with a mammoth footprint of living space. It not only dramatically increases the size of the shelter and its usable space, but it’ll up the inner temperature and help reduce condensation.

Want extreme comfort? Add the Extending Wrap then

The mesh vents at the front and rear marry up to those
on the shelter, allowing you to still create airflow even with the wrap on. The front door is also fully removable via a single 10mm heavy-duty zip and it comes supplied with an additional groundsheet section which simply Velcro’s to the main groundsheet.
