Prologic Thermo Armour 4S Sleeping Bag

Winter is coming! Yep, we know it might not be here just yet, but you need to get tooled up to resist its icy advances!

This is your last chance to get kitted out before the really cold stuff hits. By October, those mornings will be really chilly, and the nights, well, let’s just say you’d be mad to risk a flimsy sleeping bag. In the market for a new four-season jobbie that won’t leave you short for the kid’s Christmas pressies, then allow us to introduce the Prologic Thermo Armour 4S Sleeping Bag.

Super warm, yet still reasonably lightweight

The Big Questions

Sounds heavy?
Far from it actually. Rather than line the 4S with fleece, as many have done, Prologic opted to line just the pillow area, with the rest of the bag decked out in lightweight polyester. Hey presto, a lighter, less bulky winter bag that won’t stick to you as you roll around.

When should I reach for it?
Right, anywhere from 10şC, aaaaaaaallll the way down to a frosty -7şC. Now, given that only total fools would be out in temps below that, and knowing that us carpers are just such fools, Prologic also makes a Thermo Armour cover that takes the rating down to a Baltic -12! So, pick it up from October and pack it away in April, that’s our advice!

A robust waterproof outer means you can lay down on top of the bag with your boots on

I still use an open-fronted shelter in the winter, will this protect me?
Here’s the clever bit. The outer lining of the bag is made from 100% waterproof materials, which means that if you are mad enough to brave it under the 50-incher this winter, the rain driving in won’t affect your night’s sleep (you probably do need your head checking though!).

What’s the spec?
Okay, so we’re talking 210T ripstop polyester inner and 240T nylon outer, as well as bound, shaped hollow fibre filling that does the hard work of keeping you toasty and that fleece-lined pillow area.

What’s the damage?
We’re pleased to say that it’s a refreshing £149.99, although we did see it for £129.99 online, so perhaps keep your eyes peeled for deals. We reckon that’s a mighty good price for an essential piece of kit that you need to last you for a good few seasons. If you don’t wash it for a few seasons, you might have to pay someone to burn it for you or something…
