Supa Brolly Mk2 range

The object of every carp angler’s bankside home fantasy, the Fox Supa Brolly, has just become even more desirable

In 2012 everybody you knew had a Fox Supa Brolly. If they didn’t, they wanted one. And in 2015 nothing is going to change: this second generation version is going to be even more popular and for very good reason: it’s even better. Aside from already being one of the most comfortable, spacious and quickest brolly systems to put up, this 2015 version comes with a zip-and-panelful of extras to make your stay on the bank even more pleasurable.

What’s different then, it looks pretty similar?
Loads! Whilst the actual concept and design has remained the same – i.e. it features the patented Self-Tensioning System (STS) which gives increased headroom so you no longer bang your head on the spokes – Fox have introduced a fistful of new features on this range of four new models. We suppose the most impressive change has to be the new khaki-coloured Ventec material which is both a thicker grade compared to the Ventec Lite previously used on the original Supa Brolly’s and a much nicer colour.

That’s great, but does that mean I’m going to melt in summer now?
Luckily no. Thanks to the added rear mozzy mesh vents to all MK2 models, you can now benefit from maximum airflow in those hot months.

Result! So what else is new?
All four versions feature Fox’s new protective, compression plastic bell cap with rubber gasket seal (it’s that good Fox have a patent pending on it), which is a major step forward from the original design.

Is there something different going on with the storm poles?
The actual storm poles themselves are still the same – and you’ll find two 24-inch ones (Systems also come with two 36-inches) supplied – but this second generation model now features pole caps which cover the point of the pole to ensure no damage can occur to your brolly when in transit.

Nice touch. Has the front been tweaked too?
It has indeed. Both the 50 and 60 Systems now benefit from a new front door design that enables you to choose between separate solid, clear PVC or mesh doors rather than having to attach options over the top of the existing door like previous models. Plus, on both open front brolly’s you can purchase a full Mozzy Mesh front separately.

Tell me a little about each of the models.
Just like its predecessors, the MK2 is available as a standard Supa Brolly and a Supa Brolly System, with both models being sold in either 50 or 60”. Whilst the 60” is perfect for every type of angling session you could encounter, the 50 is ideal for the type of angler that doesn’t require so much space or who is fishing in tighter, more compact swims.

Multiple pegging points allow you to set the bivvy to whatever height you require

That all sounds awesome. Is there anything else I should know?
All the other awesome stuff which made the original Supa Brolly one of the best on the market has remained the same: front drain to divert rain away from the front of the brolly; rod retaining strap; looped locking collar for hanging items such as lamps and receivers; multiple pegging points to enable you to adjust the height; oh, and of course all the extra stuff that gets thrown in for nowt, like the heavy-duty pegs and groundsheet, plus the oversized carry bag which features a simple-but-mega-handy full-length zip. It’s everything you originally fell in love with, just now with even more ace features! foxint.com
