How the Chod rig has evolved over time

Wow, haven't rigs changed over the years?! Here's how the Chod Rig has evolved...

From top to bottom: First generation, second generation, third generation, fourth generation.

First generation

The first generation of the Chod Rig used Amnesia as a hooklink material and a stiff Hair.

Second generation

The second generation uses ESP Stiff Bristle Filament and a hook with an out-turned eye, D-Rig style.

Third generation

The next stage on is also known at the ‘Mk2 Chod’. This utilises a very small and stiff boom section.

Fourth generation

And where we are today: features an aggressive curve in the hooklink. A small loop knot is used for it to sit straight.

How you should use a Chod rig...

Lake bed: Silt or weed
Lead set-up: Heicopter
Knots: Blood Knot or Loop Knot and Knotless Knot
Hookbaits: Very buoyant pop-up
