Hmm....

Postby matrix2808 » Fri Jul 23, 2010 6:35 pm

I'm using IC1 frozen boilies as a lot of you know, i went down the lake yesterday and fished with a friend of mine who also uses the same bait, i have some IC1 shelf life and we decided that as neither of us were prepared to wait for the bait to thaw that we would use the shelf life.

The previous day my friend had been down to the lake and had half a dozen fish on the frozen IC1, and i can't remember the last time i blanked on the frozen bait, anyway needless to say we both blanked. Now i'm not saying that it had anything to do with the shelf life bait but we were both fishing hotspots and we both blanked on the same bait, does that mean anything?

Yeah it means you both didn`t catch, simple as that.

Did anyone else catch? Did you think you was doing anything else wrong?
It`s moderately high pressure at the moment, maybe just a session you weren`t going to catch no matter what you used?
Try putting the frozen bait into lake water for an hour, it`ll defrost quicker.

Could've been the pressure i guess but the lake isn't shy of giving up it's residents whatever the weather or pressure really, there was one other guy on the lake who had 2 fish in a 4 hour session, fishing at the opposite end of the lake though.
Like i said i can't remember the last time, whatever the conditions, that i blanked. I wish i'd taken frozen as well.

Do you think colour makes a difference? The baits smell the same but whereas my frozen baits are a light brown, the shelfies are more orangey like the squid liver plus.
I've yet to see the frozen baits in the shop but i don't think they're gonna be the same colour boilies as i get.
