April 07 – My old ‘day ticket water’ PB. The famous Five Star.
The Day Ticket Issue
What do you think of when you hear the words “day ticket water”? It’s a simple enough question, and the obvious answer would be ‘busy’. That’s very true; leads whipping the water, market floats dotted about and matie next-door in fine ‘bombing’ style filling the place in with his truckload of spod mix.
All of this concludes to one thing: the fish are under pressure, and seeing as we are moving into the spring, it means they’ll be even busier and under even more pressure, hence why we came up with ‘The Day Ticket Issue’. Genius, eh?
Wrong, it’s just being sensible and thoughtful to us all. We’ve all done it: turned up for a session, thought we’d have-it-off, hoofed the kit in the car and gone home with a blank. So we’re all going to get our ‘pressured water advice’ fix from this month’s mag.
On P18 you’ll find Dave Benton’s Tour Of Sandhurst Lake, plus a cut-out map with markings of where you should cast too! On top of that, Rob Hughes tell us about his underwater findings on day ticket venues (P28), we list 50 of the country’s hottest waters, and on page 46 Myles Gascoyne lists his top 14 tips for tackling these leading waters.
Besides that, on page 62 we’ve got 545.74kgs of Bait-Tech goodies to giveaway, numerous sets of Shimano’s underwear (kinky), an outrageous subscription offer, and of course the free gift that came with this edition – Fox’s Stratos CD-Rom. Add all the usual carping literature on top of that, and you’ve got the best carping read out there. Enjoy the issue!
