Jim Wilson's Multi Rig set-up

Neat, effective, and quick and easy to tie: here's how to tie Jim Wilson's Multi Rig set-up

1. These are the components required to tie Jim’s version of the Multi Rig.

2. Start off by creating an Overhand Loop in the N-Trap Semi Stiff like so.

3. Remove the coating on the tag end and then place a piece of shrink tubing over the knot.

4. Now remove another small section of the outer coating like Jim has here.

5. Squeeze the loop closed so you can place it through the eye of the hook.

6. Now place a micro ring swivel onto the loop, like so and move onto Step 7.

7. To secure the hook, take the loop back over the hook point like so.

8. For your counter-balance, squeeze a split shot onto the loose tag end.

9. To really secure this, now blob it so that the tag sits tight against the shot.

10. Roll a dollop of putty around the split shot to anchor your hookbait.

11. This is how your rig should now be looking. Now for the steaming…

12. Create a Figure-Of-Eight Loop in the other end nearest to your lead set-up.

13. Now you want to steam everything, from the shrink tubing to the hooklink.

14. Using your thumb carefully shape the material into a curve, like a Chod Rig.

15. With the hook section now curved, it will hold its shape beautifully like this.

16. Before casting out, you want to now steam the entire hooklength perfectly straight.
