Liquid pulling power!

Mainline Baits owner, Kev Knight explains how to boost the attraction of your bait presentation to up your catch-rate

Even though I have an unlimited access to bait, it’s very rare that I find myself fishing over much more than a handful. Yes, if I was off to France or somewhere for a long session, I would probably put out a good spread of boilies and pellets – fishing according to the situation. But the situation I’m normally faced with is a short day session – once a month if I’m lucky, perhaps twice if I push it. With a busy business and, as I’ve said, little time to fish, I generally target waters where I can catch-up with a few mates and get a few bites.

Places like Thorpe Lea where I can have a bit of fun and enjoy my precious day on the bank. At venues like this I normally begin fishing for one bite at a time, especially at this time of year when the feeding response of the fish is uncertain. Although in most cases at well-stocked lakes like Thorp Lea, the majority of fish are always on the look out for food – you’ve just got to give ‘em something to home in on.

Liquid bait additives are ideal for this, and at Mainline we’ve always been extremely proud of the liquid attractors we produce – not just the ones that go into our boilies but also the general-purpose liquids. We developed a range of Particle & Pellet Syrups some time ago, and this development has led to the release of our PVA-friendly Stick Mix Liquids. This progression has consequently led to the Syrups also becoming PVA-friendly, and this is where the main advantage of these liquids lies.

Stick Mix Liquids can boost the attraction of any bait presentation

You can easily stick them all over your hookbait, over pellets or free bait, and best of all inside PVA bags and Sticks – you can even apply a coating to the outside of your PVA parcel! Nick a bag of pellets or boilie crumb on the hook, glug everything with your favourite flavour of Stick Mix Liquid and cast out – simple, yes, but you’re actually doing something pretty clever.

The liquid is also designed to disperse throughout the water column, creating a massive food signal from the minimum of feed. In other words attracting carp from all levels of water to your hookbait and small handful of bait – the perfect scenario for quick and consistent bites!

In, on, and over... Give your bait a boost

1 Squirt neat liquid IN a PVA bag; twist, lick and nick onto the hook.

2 You can put these liquids ON anything like mesh bags and hookbaits.

3 Squirt these liquids all OVER your freebies to increase the food signal.
