A Boot Above The Rest

With 40 years of rain and fabric experience under its belt, Vass is—without a doubt—the go-to brand for wading products, and their latest release merges two of their all-time greats into one…

We live in a world where things are getting bigger and heavier every day. Just look at the latest iPhone or these new square-shaped bivvies. It’s refreshing, then, to see that Vass—officially the world’s bestselling wader brand—is back with another gem, focusing on the brand’s original ethos of the highest quality waterproof fabrics, but this time in a heavyweight—but lightweight—hybrid format…

You what?! Heavyweight/lightweight?
It’s a hybrid—hence the name! The new Hybrid 700 waders are a combination of both weight classes! They’ve cleverly combined the ultra tough, and slightly heavier, Vass-Tex 700 material on the lower section, with the lightweight Vass-Tex 350 material on the upper to reduce overall weight and increase flexibility. This combo offers you the best of both worlds: ruggedness, lightness and bulletproof reliability.

Ah, I see! Go on then, tell me more then…
From the base up, they’ve used their tried and tested ‘Vass E Boot’, which has a wider calf and foot fitting for extra comfort and ease of fitting into when in a rush (read: reacting to a one-noter). There are two sole options built into those boots: non-studded or studded, and they come in a massive range of sizes—from a dainty 6 all the way up to a behemoth 13. And to ensure there’s zero chance of any water ingress, ‘Vass Quad Welded Seams’ are used throughout.

Have they skimp on any of the features?
Don’t be daft. The Hybrid 700 comes with all the usual Vass bells and whistles: external zipped chest pocket, internal chest pocket, internal chest drawcord with toggles, and of course their most famous trademark of all: those quick-release buckles which are fastened to yellow elasticated straps. The best Vass waders yet? You betcha.  £119.95
