Spotted Fin Frank Warwick range

Spotted Fin has teamed up with Frank Warwick to release a range of pop-ups that WILL stand the test of time

You may not know it, but Frank Warwick has almost certainly caught you a carp or two. He’s responsible for bringing fluoro hookbaits into carp fishing, and Spotted Fin recently engaged his fertile mind to come up with a range of hookbaits for them. The collaboration looks to have borne fruit too (Miracle Berries to be precise!), from what we’ve seen. Rather than flood the market, the guys settled on five absolute classic combinations that have stood out over Frank’s long carp career, which is quite some recommendation…

The big questions

There are fluoros in the range, right?
You know it! The Classic Corn and Miracle Berry are the brightest, most traditional, ‘bright ones’. The Caramel Cream and Masala Spice are a little more ‘reserved’ and the Fruit Zing are in-vogue whites. Whatever bait you’re fishing over, you’re provided with hookbaits that stand out, or blend in a little more.

What sizes do they do?
Currently the range includes 12 and 15mm versions, making them perfect for use as traditional singles, or as part of a snowman set-up. The 12mm versions make great tippers, especially when chopped in half!

Sweet and savoury?
Yep. There’s plenty of variety. All the attractor combinations have the Warwick stamp on them, and have been formulated over decades of testing.

And what about glugs/dips?
There’s a booster spray for each of the pops which incorporates the same attractors and flavours that feature in the actual hookbaits themselves.

What’s the quality like?
There are no annoying off-cuts or misshapes in here. Instead, each pot contains perfectly round pop-ups that are super-buoyant, and stay like that! Spotted Fin have taken great care in the production process, so you can have confidence in the finished product!

Why should I care what Frank thinks?
This man has been responsible for some carp fishing advances that we simply take for granted. His blue-sky thinking has already delivered the first fluoro pop-ups, tuna in spod mixes and his ‘Short Rig’ – the set-up that led to the development of the all-conquering Chod Rig. So yes, you should care!

Go on then: what do they cost?
So: the Booster Sprays are £4.99 for a 50ml bottle and the hookbaits are £5.99 a tub. And you can buy them both from spottedfin.com
