Cygnet Indicators
We delve a little deeper into the comprehensive Cygnet range of indicators

Given that your isotopes could well outlast you, you should probably choose them wisely, right? They’re the little gizmos that you forget about just as soon as you’ve popped them into your bobbins. But, you’d sure as hell miss them if they weren’t there any more. We dread to think how hard it’d be trying to work out which rod just had that slight drop-back in the middle of the night without these little guys. The thing is though, they’re expensive, aren’t they? Frankly, isotopes are the last things you want to be buying after you’ve shelled out your hard-earned on some new bobbins, but they’re essential!

Want some good news? Well, the Cygnet Isolite range is actually pretty reasonably priced, and they fit many bobbins outside the Cygnet range too, which is pretty good of the guys, right? They’re bloomin’ bright and are available in three sizes, and six colours, to match the bite alarm LEDs, obviously.

How can you increase the sensitivity of your bobbins? Well, how about by using these clever little products? First up, the new Loaders. Screwing these add-on weights into the bottom of your Cygnet indicators will help them sit more stable in the wind, and they pick up a little more slack out of your line, transmitting the most subtle of indications with the utmost immediacy. Choose from 5g (cones or cylinders), 10g or 20g to suit your angling.

Our second pick, the Pivot Arms. Because they’re rigid and double-hinged, they eliminate such a lot of false movement that the wind can cause. The indicator shafts are made from fibreglass, which means they’re lightweight, making them perfect for use with super-light bobbin heads, or the very biggest bad boys for uber-long-range work on the Continent. Cygnet make some super-cute 3-inch versions, and 6-inch versions that are only marginally less cute!
“GIMME”: 3-inch £5.99; 6-inch £6.99
