We’ve been Snugpak patriots ever since we first purchased one of their Softie Jackets back in 2006. It was lightweight yet ridiculously warm; breathable and wind resistant; and most of all, it was fitted and looked sharp. To all intents and purposes, it couldn’t be beaten. But then last year our favourite sunglasses brand, Fortis, formed a collaboration with the world renowned military and outdoor specialists and the outcome produced the SJ9: a chunky, insanely warm, DPM-covered jacket which retailers struggled to keep on their shelves.
Featuring a roll-away hood: Let’s face it, even though it’s technically “summer”, you’re going to get caught in a downpour at some point, but thankfully the SJ3 has your head covered with its roll-away hood.
For this spring/summer, the duo has colluded once again to bring you the SJ3: a lighter weight version (the medium-sized jacket weighs a mere 550g) of the SJ9, and just like this original standout piece, it’s again manufactured right here in the UK to the same exacting standards.
Thumbholes: Elasticated cuffs with thumbholes ensure no cold, draughty winds get up into your sleeves.
On the outside, this DPM tailored-to-fit beaut benefits from Snugpak’s high-tech Paratext Micro which keeps the wind out, whilst the 3oz Softie Premier filling reflects and traps heat for reliable dryness, warmth and comfort.
And with the likes of Gaz Fareham swearing by both the brands, this jacket won’t let you down when you hit the banks this spring/summer.
“GIMME”: £109.95 ; fortis-eyewear.co.uk
Extra warmth retention: Sleek, concealed pockets and a water-resistant main zip for greater insulation and dryness will ensure you’re warm, dry and comfortable for the middle seven months of each year.
