At Ease in the Moon Chair

As its product name suggests—the Nash Indulgence Moon Chair is all about comfort. Sink into its doughy embrace and you won’t want to be leaving anytime soon

We all like a bit of luxury in our lives. When it comes to fishing, however, it seems to be regarded as unnecessary by many, but why? Rods have improved to aid our casting; shelters have become quicker to erect, thus minimising faff; and alarms are now packed with tech to improve indication. Give us a moon chair you’d be happy to sit in at home, but make it in camo and… “Fishing has gone mad! I’ll stick to my (insert name of generic, purist angler’s chair here), thank you.”

I mentioned that you would be happy to sit in a moon chair at home, because as I write, we have one set up in our living room as we await a leather armchair. A fitting substitute? Perhaps not, but visitors have vowed to take up fishing now they have sampled the comfort it provides. I must agree with them. You almost feel hugged when you sink into one, and its warming properties are noticed in the colder months as its shape acts as a windbreak, preventing those cold chills to the lower back.

A moon chair isn’t perfect, however. It certainly isn’t my chair of choice on a short session, rather those of 48hrs-plus, as I would liken the transportation of my low moon chair to that of carting around an enlarged bin lid. There is no easy way of carrying one, and barrow positioning has yet to be perfected. Your back will not thank you either after a lengthy stay, as it doesn’t exactly promote perfect posture.

That all being said, the lure of being a slob, with a cider in one hand and a burger in the other, is just too hard to resist. Fishing has gone mad? Nope, it’s just got a whole lot more comfortable. £109.99
