Carp Spirit’s new alarm set offers eye-catching features with a very friendly price tag

Carp Spirit have re-jigged their bite alarm line up for 2022 and one of the stand-out offerings is undoubtedly the Blax VX-R, which promises to offer looks, performance and features for a very keen price indeed. Let’s take a closer look at five key reasons to invest in a set…

1. Tweakable features
The Blax VX-R has three external buttons and is intuitive to operate. On the left is the on-off button which also acts as a volume control (cycle through four different volume options with each button press). On the right are the tone and sensitivity controls, which also operate in the same way and have four different options apiece.

2. Added extras
Beyond those adjustable parameters, the Blax VX-Rs also offer some neat additional touches. There’s a nightlight mode to softly illuminate your rods in the hours of darkness, a low-battery warning and a 2.5mm power-out socket for light-up bobbins. They even come in a presentation case in three or four-rod options.

3. Receiver capability
Receivers were once the preserve of high-end alarms, but now they’re almost seen as standard equipment, and Carp Spirit have got in on the act here. The Blax bundle comes with a compact receiver that boasts a 150m range in clear areas and is dead simple to pair with the alarm heads. A lanyard is also included in the kits.

4. Tough outer shells
Both the receiver and the alarm heads are made from high-impact ABS moulded plastic and despite their very competitive retail prices are designed to withstand the rigours of all-weather carp fishing. The alarm heads have stainless-steel screw threads and they look stylish and uncluttered too, which is a bonus!

5. Low cost
Perhaps in this year more than ever, getting value for money for your fishing kit is vitally important. Carp Spirit seem to be very much aware of this and have priced the Blax VX-R accordingly. Three alarms and a receiver will set you back just £79.99, which makes them an absolute bargain, quite frankly.
