Banging bargains from BMG

Going direct to BMG for rig bits can save you a packet ...

Nipping to the tackle shop for a few essentials can soon turn into an expensive trip now that hook prices have tipped over the £5-a-pack mark. One alternative is to go to BMG, who source their hooks and rig bits from the same factories as most major manufacturers, but keep overheads low to pass on the savings to you. BMG’s hooks start at just £2 a packet for the Original range, which feature six familiar patterns. Beyond that, the Resilient range costs just £3 a packet, and that’s including UK delivery. There are eight instantly recognisable patterns in this lineup covering all angling needs.

Since they began in 2011, BMG have built a strong following online - their BMG Tackle Chat Room group on Facebook has well over 30,000 members - and created an incredible reputation for customer service. Unlike most hook suppliers, BMG founder Ben and his team hand check each and every hook in their packets for quality. In fact, the company originally came into existence because Ben and his angling mates kept finding too many unusable hooks in their shop-bought packets.

Away from hooks, BMG also supply a large range of swivels, lead clips, tubes, foams, beads and sleeves. They also do a range of tungsten products, leaders and three different hooklink materials. Peel is a semi-stiff coated braid that costs just £7 for 20m, while Sinew is a supple braid at just a fiver and RigorLink is a Chod filament that costs just £4 for 20m.

As a handy bonus, all prices on the BMG store include UK delivery! Find them on Facebook (search ‘BMG Tackle’) or head over to their new website: bmgtackle.com
