1. The pen itself
It’s a tackle box-friendly 11 x 3cm battery-powered pen with a ceramic heating plate up top. To operate it doesn’t get any simpler: flick the main switch up and then hold the on/off button for a few seconds. Once the plate is up to temperature, the small LED will flash repeatedly. 

2. Convenience
Open any tackle box or pouch, in any country, and you’ll have a 95% success rate of finding some shrink tubing in varying diameters. Whilst it’s clearly a rig-related essential, it’s still a faff to use, involving the need to boil the kettle each time to shrink it down. With the Shrink Tuber ST9, that process is banished forever. 

3. Super hot
The ceramic heating plate rises to 90-120°C for a few seconds, allowing you to run the part of your rig with the shrink tubing along the plate, reducing it down in a few seconds. 

4. Charging 
The device is fully rechargeable via USB, but with over 100 working cycles on a single charge, you won’t be topping it up with power on a too-regular basis (unless your name’s Tom Maker, of course).
