Thanks to Corus, you can now own a carbon throwing stick without having to go into arrears on the mortgage

Looks, as they say, can be deceptive. Sure, taken at face value, this new throwing stick appears to be merely another carbon throwing stick from another company. But beneath the X-Launch’s fat-free exterior, it’s different on a couple of levels. ¶ Made from an ultra-thin yet incredibly strong 3k carbon weave and coupled with a soft-grip handle. The result is a throwing stick which weighs next to nothing (a measly 66g), meaning you can put your baits out (from 15 to 22mm in size) just as far as normal but with less power—and that ultimately means a less aching elbow and arm. ¶ Secondly, a Neoprene sleeve will keep it protected during transport, and the price tag will do the same for you with your partner: just £39.95! That’s a top-spec carbon throwing stick for under £40!

Having issues getting your soft baits out in the throwing stick? Then, of course, it’s worth wetting the inside of the tube—but this will reduce the ultimate range. It’s far better to have a hard bait that can be ‘sticked’ rather than struggle to manage softer baits that are splitting. To achieve this, just soak them for a couple of days in soluble fish protein (CC Moore’s Fish Protein Concentrate or Sticky’s L030T are two good examples)—this will make them go rock hard and super attractive.
