Safe and Secure | JAG Net Locker

If carp retainers are banned on your venue, then JAG can provide the perfect antidote with their Net Locker

Image

1. What is it?
JAG’s Net Locker is such a big hit with fisheries that have a flat ban on all retainers and sacks because it’s a way to retain a carp for a short period of time without having to remove them from the water, transfer them to a sling and then put them back in the water.

2. Talk me through the design
On the underside there is a standard screw thread for your bankstick, storm pole and stage stand. On the top, there are two ‘U’ rests on which the arms of your net sit. With four slots of adjustability, pretty much any net on the market will be able to fit. At the back of the Locker is JAG’s unique quick-release locker system—this is what holds your net in place.

3. How does it work?
Once you’ve netted the fish, place the net into the two ‘U’ rests and wrap the elasticated quick-release locker strap around the handle. To release this locker, simply press the red button, and it’ll instantly release, giving you back full control over the net.

4. More practicality
The other use is the practicality of having your net on hand rather than up the bank, caught in some brambles! With the Net Locker, you can organise everything in your swim, knowing that if you are lucky enough to get a bite, not only are you ready for it, it’s still going to be there in the morning!

5. The price
At £42.99, there is no disputing it is a lot of money. But when JAG makes something, they make it right, and they make it well, and the Net Locker ticks both of those boxes. It’s a belt-and-braces design that offers maximum security.
