Avid’s Exodus Pro range comes with both an appealing offer & stunning looks

Avid’s Exodus rods have been a big player on the carp scene for four years, so a 2022 update—under the Exodus Pro banner—is an exciting prospect for carpers seeking quality on a budget. What might be even more appealing is the fact these new Pro versions are available on a three-for-two deal. Here’s everything you need to know…

I’m aware of the Exodus range, so what’s Exodus Pro all about?
It’s a continuation of the ‘quality on a budget’ ethos but the newer rods take advantage of all the technical and manufacturing advances available to rod builders over the last few years.

Such as?
Well, these rods are built on a lightweight high-modulus blank (that means more carbon, less resin) with a 3K weave, integral line clips, quality guides and handles, and understated graphics.

Sounds nice. What’s the range like?
There are 10ft and 12ft options. The shorter versions are available in 3lb and 3.5lb versions and are ideal for smaller venues or boat work. The 12-footers come in 3lb, 3.25lb and 3.5lb options with a range of attributes from relatively soft and forgiving through to proper casting tools. Avid’s resident long-chucker, Tom Forrester describes the 3.5lb model as “a bit of an animal well capable of putting leads and solid bags a long way”.

Are there matching spod and marker rods?
Yep, there are dual-action spod/maker rods in both 10ft and 12ft lengths. Both are lightweight yet very powerful, with the longer one capable of putting spods over 150yds.

And Avid have a price deal on at the moment?
Yep! Individually, each rod is priced as £54.99 (10ft) or £64.99 (12ft) but Avid are currently offering ‘buy two, get a third free’. You can mix and match any three rods in the Exodus Pro range, with the cheapest being free. An A-Z list of participating retailers is available on the Avid website.
