Century Stealth Graphene Reinforced carp rod range

World exclusive! We’ve been hearing whispers about a new Century rod collection and we got an exclusive peek...

It’s been a while since the last carp-based release from North East-based carbon wizards, Century. The guys have been buried in the lab like a team of mad scientists for over a year working on this one and teasing us here at CARPology with development updates from time-to-time. The result: the brand-new and very special Century Stealth Graphene Reinforced carp rod range.

Century tell us that this is their new flagship rod and they certainly aren’t wrong. In fact, there can’t be another rod on the market with the looks, performance, quality and immense list of key features that this rod possesses.

The new Stealth is available in no less than six different models with five different test curve options in two different lengths to suit literally every situation you can think of. First up are the 12fters which are available in 2.5lb, 3lb, 3.25lb, 3.5lb and an ultra long range 3.75lb version that the guys tell us is based on the action of the awesome 13ft Century C2-D. There is also a 13ft 3.5lber for those who prefer a longer rod.

They’ve been teasing us for months, but here’s the result: the brand-new and very special Century Stealth Graphene Reinforced carp rod range

The options don’t stop there as each model much like the C2-D is available with a choice of guides. Firstly is a lightweight black steel guide which not only really looks the part but is also a little lighter than the previous Century steel guides providing a decent reduction in overall weight. The second option is not only unique but it’s pure class. After months of development the new Century Stealth is also available with gun smoke (almost black) PVD-coated Titanium SiC classic style double leg ringing which not only weigh less than fag paper but look incredible to say the least. These are an exclusive to Century and won’t be found anywhere else.

As you would expect the build is also pretty damn tasty with a wonderful finish that has become synonymous with the Century brand of late. An understated black custom theme comprising black laser-etched aluminium butt cap and signature matt black ALPS reel seat with a classic abbreviated handle and of course the two black ringing options which now also include anti-tangle tip guides. Plain black whippings and stunning Steel Grey tippings finish things off a treat and all look superb mounted on the ultra lightweight 1k-1k finished blank. For the first time on a Century rod the weave finds its way all the way down to the tip guide making the cosmetics better than ever.

As far as the blank itself is concerned, well let’s just say that there is literally nothing like it in today’s marketplace. The lightest blank Century has ever produced. Lighter than even the C2 and made using the most advanced materials currently available and of course with the addition of the Nobel Prize winning Graphene to their already bombproof resin system, performance has been taken to a whole new level.

The listed technical attributes of this new offering from Century is literally mind-blowing and in next month’s issue we look forward to taking an in depth, on-the-bank look at this exciting new rod and its technical features in some serious detail.
