Banana Rods: Breaking our Facebook page

There are carp rods and there are carp rods. And then, there’s this range of carp rods. Make way for Banana Rods, the company who almost broke our Facebook page

In less than 12-months, Banana Rods has gone from a company none of us had ever heard of, to one which sends our Facebook Insights into meltdown when we post up an image of their amazing handmade rods – and it’s all for a very good reason. They’re turning out some of the most high-end rods on planet earth from their own bespoke factory in Orleans, France. Where other brands’ production lines are churning out a rod every 2hrs, Banana Rods is almost 8hrs. That’s the level of care and detail we’re talking about here.

Along with their range of four models – from the flagship T-48 to the Vectrum and on to The Cross and the SpodMarker – Banana Rods also offer many options for creating your own rod with a few added touches. For example, being able to choose from a wide selection of reel seats, including the awe-inspiring Apls seats, and a whole host of quality ringing options up to Fuji’s top-end SIC K Series guides. And whilst you may think the company name would be grabbing all the headlines, it’s actually the golf club style grip handles that’s been turning heads ever since they launched here in the UK. These elegant and ergonomic style handles are available in five colours, or you have the choice of full cork and abbreviated handle options, plus there’s whipping colours and your own personalised inscriptions.

This level of high-end service and product continues with your guarantee. Where other brands traditionally offer a 2- to 5-year warranty, Banana offer ten. And they also offer better after-sales service, including a pick-up service from your door.

CARPology has seen and cast a lot of nice rods over the years, but none take your breath away quite the way Banana Rods do: they look incredible, they perform outstandingly well and they have such a high level of exclusivity.

Next month we’re out on the bank, doing a live test on the brand’s latest offering to the carp market.
