Covering all bases
Combining amazing looks with functionality and an exceptional price tag? This can only mean one thing: Cyprinus have a new bivvy for us all

When the Cyprinus label kicked off mid-2010, it was a small range of chairs, mats and footwear; now it’s a full-blown collection of luxurious pieces that CARPology recommends everyone to take a closer look at, with one such example being the new Base HQ Bivvy – one the most feature-packed bankside homes on the market.

Now obviously pram-hood bivvies aren’t anything new, but if you’re a fan then this will be right up your alley: it resoundingly ticks three very big must-have pram-hood bivvy boxes.

It’s your classic three-rib, pram-hood shelter with a front peak

So let’s start with the bare bones: this is your classic three-rib, pram-hood shelter with a front peak. It’s strong, reliable, quick to set-up and comes in two versions: One- or Two-Man. That strength comes from the super strong poles (which come finished in a new classy black powder coating) which build the structure of the HQ. The reliability lays in the fabric the Swindon-based firm have used: it comes with a mightily impressive 10,000mm Hydrostatic head and 100% waterproof rating, which basically means: “you’re not going to get wet”.

It comes complete with zipped and Velcroed mozzie back vents and front side windows, along with a clear door window and dual-zipped doors to allow for a letterbox-style opening, plus front and rear rod straps. So yes: it’s got all the bells and whistles you’d expect to find on any top-end pram-hood.

The HQ comes fitted with zipped and Velcroed mozzie back vents

The second key part that CARPology.net really loves about this new bivvy is its versatility. Simply roll the front panel right back to create an oval type shelter – and thanks to its depth, you still have plenty of room to push your chair/bedchair right to the back, totally protecting you from the elements whilst still having room around the sides to selectively layout your luggage items how you want them. Or, throw on the optional overwrap and you’ve got a bivvy to take on any long session in total comfort.

And finally, the third criterion that Cyprinus has got spot-on (once again) with this product: the price. Along with the bivvy itself, Cyprinus are also throwing in tension poles, pegs and a carry bag – and all for, get this, £209.99 (normally £499.99) for the One Man and £249.99 (normally £599.99) for the Two Man! It’s the shelter deal of the 2015.

N.B. We also forgot to mention there are two other outstanding reasons why Cyprinus is ruling the on-line roost right now. Firstly, they offer FREE next-day delivery, and secondly, there’s their ‘14 Day Money Back Guarantee’. Awesome, right?!
