CARPology catches up with Fortis Managing Director, Darran Goulder, to get the complete lowdown on this special collaboration and collection

How did this collaboration come about?
“We often have some mad ideas in our lunch room at work. However, when Realtree® was discussed one day, there was an instant click, and believe it or not, we discussed pretty much the whole media campaign before the lunch was over! The very next day we were chatting to our now account manager at Realtree® about how we could go about being approved to be a licensee of their patterns. 

“And even though some of the anglers we’ve approached have ties with their sponsors, they were all very keen to be a part of this pretty special project which is a lot more than just a clothing range. It’s very nostalgic for one and that takes anglers back to an era which we are unlikely to ever experience again!”

So were you a massive Realtree fan back in the early 2000s?!
“I for one loved it! Who didn’t? I used to go to Florida a lot as a kid on holiday and every trip involved a day out to a Bass Pro shop.”

How did you decide on which pattern to go for?
“There are heaps of patterns to choose from but Realtree EDGE® is essentially the modern-day version of the Hardwoods Green that used to be popular in the early 2000s.”

Will you continue to license Realtree or is this very much a limited edition, 10th anniversary special collection?
“This collection is limited and shops were already reordering the morning it launched, which is just incredible. I would say one thing though: buy it whilst you can and not at silly inflated prices on eBay further down the line when it’s gone forever!”
