Drop ‘Em
A wonderfully underrated product, this tungsten-wax compound adds weight to supple braided hooklinks. If you’re fearful that your solid-bag rigs are looping up off the deck just rub Drop ‘Em over the hooklink like a crayon and it’ll impregnate the braid with tungsten, making it sink much better. Gloriously simple and effective - you can even create subtle combi-style rigs with selective application. Drop ‘Em can also be used like a conventional tungsten putty, rolled into small blobs and placed on your line to pin down leaders and hooklinks.

Merlin
An absolute classic that has found a home in anglers’ rig pouches for more than 25 years, Merlin is an exceptionally supple, yet strong, braided hooklink. Having been given a recent update, Merlin has shed its original light colouring and is now available in three subtler shades (Brown, Green and Dark) and 15, 25 and 35lb breaking strains. Now even more supple than the original version, it’s the perfect counterpoint to stiff fluorocarbon when used to tie combi rigs, or can be used on its own to create stealthy presentation in weed or PVA bag rigs.
