Time For Round 2!

ND’s original Quick Release Landing Net was a hit. Well priced, with a neat adjustable handle and a clever tensioning system. So how can it be bettered?

Hang on, you reviewed this yonks back…
Good memory skills! We did, back in October 2021. This new version is based around that original model but without the quick release mechanism and this one goes by the name of Quick Release Landing Net 2.

But wasn’t it the ‘quick release mechanism’ which orignally impressed you so much?
You are correct, but thanks to a new custom spreader block, the stiff carbon composite arms slide in and out with minimal pressure (when applied in the right area), so it’s still very worthy of its product name! Just have a watch of ND’s own video or head over to CARPology’s YT channel to watch Iain Mitchell do it ‘live’ (well, sort of) before your very eyes.

So is there anything else different then?
No, not really! The same quality materials which arrived on the original net are still there. As we’ve just mentioned, they’ve bestowed this net with stiff carbon-composite arms and main handle for toughness and rigidity.

The only other difference is the price point…
It’s just £49, and if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can have it delivered the very next day! And, incredibly, for that price you also get a secure carry bag that doubles as a stink bag and net float. Impressive, right?

Very! Going back to the handle, is that telescopic like the original?
It certainly is. This handle covers all eventualities! Pack it down small and it’s ideal for boat work. The same could apply for tight swim stalking situations. However, should you be in a normal angling situation, or fishing with Zigs, then extend it to its full length! It’s also worth noting there’s a slot for UV lights or isotopes at the end of the handle.

What’s the net like—it looks pretty deep…
ND have used the same deep mesh that’s on the original. That depth makes it capable of landing the biggest of carp and holding them securely once the fight is over. It’s a dark-green easy-flow hexagonal mesh with a large ‘ND’ logo visible on the front panel. There’s also a Velcro securing strap sewn in, so once the net is rolled up for storage, it won’t unravel.
